- I grew up in Poolesville and have lived in Maryland all my life (with the exception of 6 years I spent in New Hampshire), and love it...don't think I could live without steamed crabs or the chance to hang out on the boardwalk in Ocean City a few times a year!
Right now, I'm an e-published romantic suspense author with Whiskey Creek Press. All my books, complete with down-to-Earth characters, take place here in Maryland. You won't find any doctors, lawyers, or rocket scientists in my stories, though...My heroes are all blue collar bad boys!
Happily married--with children--to my own blue collar bad boy, I've been writing since I was little. I love football (Hail to the Redskins & Go Bears!), helping my husband coach our daughters fastpitch softball team, cruising in my '69 SS Chevelle, and hanging out with our friends at concerts and in front of a bonfire.
I've had some pretty cool stuff happen during my 6-year writing career. A book reviewer compared my McCassey Brothers Series (NO WORRIES, THE DEVIL'S CANDY, DUSTY ROSE, and soon-to-be-released THE LONG ROAD HOME) to Nora Roberts' CHESAPEAKE BAY SAGA.
That review is framed and hanging on my wall :)
I was voted BEST AUTHOR in the 2006 Preditor's & Editor's Reader's Poll...the same year NO WORRIES was voted BEST ROMANCE NOVEL in the same poll. Two books in the series hit #1 on Whiskey Creek's BESTSELLER list, and the other one was #2 for two months in a row.
I'm currently searching for an agent for my Edgy YA novel, GROWING UP LITTLE, which was originally released as a mainstream fiction. It takes place in Baltimore and has lots of local references, including a bar modeled after the old Hammerjacks (RIP).
The story has been updated and revised and is ready to go...Anyone know of a YA agent looking to add to their client list???
